Natural Pain Relief Treatment with Acupuncture
Looking for natural alternatives for pain relief? Acupuncture is an effective treatment that stops pain by lowering inflammation and promoting the body’s natural pain killers.
Sometimes it seems that every commercial on the TV or radio is for pain relief. Advertisements for heel inserts for foot pain, special beds for back pain, arthritis creams for joint pain, and pills for sinus headaches are just a few of a long list of pain relief products.
A lot of people are searching for pain relief! In fact, pain is so common the website eMedicine Health mentions that low back pain is second only to the common cold as a cause of lost days at work!
Does Acupuncture Really Provide Pain Relief?
The answer is yes! Whether you have back pain, joint pain from arthritis, headaches, or TMJ, acupuncture gets results fast! I’ve successfully treated everything from frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injury to pain from knee replacements, hip replacements, and good old garden variety low back pain and sciatica. I’ve used acupuncture to literally treat every single type of pain I have listed on our ‘Treatments‘ page!
I’ve studied and practiced advanced acupuncture techniques that provide long lasting pain relief in less time with a high success rate for most types of pain. Since 1994 I’ve been offering pain relief solutions that work. My extensive experience and education have led to a streamlined acupuncture practice focused on helping you feel better fast!
How Does Acupuncture Work to Stop Pain?
Acupuncture clears blockage in the meridians. Meridians are channels that carry energy and blood flow to the muscles, joints, tendons, and bones. Blockage in the acupuncture channels is responsible for any pain along the meridian pathway. For example: there is an acupuncture meridian called the UB channel. It is the longest channel in the body and travels through the back of your neck, your entire back, your low back, and down into your leg. If this channel becomes blocked, you will most likely experience pain in one of these areas.
There is a Chinese saying translated to English which states: No free flow = pain, free flow = no pain.
The garden hose illustration pictured here is a perfect example of how blocked meridians cause problems in the body. If a hose can’t carry water to water a plant, the plant suffers due to lack of water flow. Similarly, in your body, the area that is not getting sufficient flow suffers damage.
Acupuncture restores free flow by removing blocks that are disrupting the meridians flowing through the areas of pain.
What Types of Pain Can Acupuncture Help?
All types of pain! Acupuncturists know that pain is due to blockages in the body. Acupuncture needles work to remove these blockages. Medical research shows that acupuncture stops pain by stimulating natural pain killers in the body called endorphins.
“Pain relief is one of the most frequent reasons that people visit my acupuncture office. And usually the most easily treated condition.”
Low back pain, sciatica, and knee pain are 3 of the most common types of pain I treat with acupuncture. Low back pain is usually muscular but I have also provided pain relief to those who have been diagnosed with stenosis, bulging discs, arthritis, and sciatica. Knee pain is often due to overuse but can be due to arthritic changes, meniscus injury, and knee replacements. The bottom line is: Acupuncture works fast!
Relief from neck pain and shoulder pain is the second most common complaint, especially for people whose jobs include prolonged sitting at the computer. Patients are amazed that this type of pain can actually go away and stay away.
Other common pain treatments at my office are:
- Joint Pain
- Arthritis
- Fibromyalgia
- Bursitis
- Tendonitis
- TMJ – Jaw Pain
- Carpal tunnel
- Plantar Fasciitis
And last but certainly not least, I successfully treat headache pain, including severe migraines, tension headaches, and sinus pain, all with only a few acupuncture needles.
