Acupuncture relieves seasonal allergies and is a natural alternative to allergy shots and antihistamines. In this article, you will discover how acupuncture relieved allergy symptoms in a research study. Some basic Chinese medicine concepts are discussed in a ‘user friendly’ way. You will also learn how allergies are diagnosed as a condition of dampness and can be considered cold or warm type based on your symptoms. Knowing which type of allergy you have is important both for acupuncture treatment and for self care.
While not discussed in this article, some common food items that contribute to ‘dampness’ and ‘cold’ type allergies are sugar, cold and raw foods, cold beverages, white flour, and dairy. ’Heat’ inducing foods include oils, especially the kind used in deep frying. This article describes low levels of vitamin D as a contributing factor in asthma. Many of us are vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D deficiency can occur even in sunny areas of the world. It is believed that this is due to people working indoors and not receiving enough sunlight. NAET theory proposes that people with vitamin D allergies will not absorb enough vitamin D which results in deficiencies. Regardless of the reason for the deficiency, low vitamin D levels have been linked to asthma and allergies. Fortunately, if you are experiencing low vitamin D levels due to an allergy, you can be tested and treated. read more

This article on the overstated rise in peanut allergies describes allergy testing for ‘true allergens’. True allergens are diagnosed when antibodies called IgEs are detected in the blood of allergy sufferers when that blood is exposed to the allergic substance. NAET is often dismissed as non-scientific due to the reliance on muscle testing to detect hidden allergens. When NAET patients test their blood, a lack of antibodies in the blood to their suspected allergens is taken as an absence of the allergy. This article describes traditional biomedical allergy testing and its apparent unreliability in detecting food allergies. Please read this article for an eye opening discussion on traditional allergy testing. read more

This article discusses the discovery of a molecule that plays a role in asthma and eczema. These two conditions are highly linked with 50-70% of children with eczema moving on to develop asthma later in life. Both conditions are very responsive to NAET treatment since food allergies are usually at the root.
Chinese medicine recognizes the link between skin and lungs noting that skin conditions are due to lung weakness even if no lung weakness is noticeable. It is no coincidence that these two conditions are linked in Chinese medical theory.

This article discusses the link between seasonal allergies, irritable bowel, and eczema. In Chinese medicine, the link between the skin, bowel, and respiratory system has long been recognized as a function of the paired organ system called Lung/Large Intestine. These two organ systems are intimately related. A problem with one organ in a paired system is often associated or will lead to a problem with its partner organ. Acupuncture have been treating this association for over 2,000 years. read more

These techniques are non-invasive, drug free, and natural solutions to eliminate allergies of all types and intensities. Muscle testing procedures are used first to diagnose the allergen(s). Then a systematic treatment procedure combining acupressure and acupuncture is given to reprogram the brain with a new message about the allergen. One allergy is treated at a time; a person with mild to moderate amount of allergies may require 15-20 treatments. read more
